Making cupcakes is a fun and rewarding process that can be customized to suit any occasion or flavor preference. Cupcakes are one of the most delicacies enjoyed by both adults and kids. Here's a basic recipe for making classic vanilla cupcakes.

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk, at room temperature.
Instructions
  • Preheat the oven; Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  • Prepare the ingredients; In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cream the butter; In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter until it's creamy.
  • Add eggs;  Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add vanilla extract; Beat in the vanilla extract.
  • Alternate wet and dry ingredients; Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Beat just until combined.
  • Divide the batter; Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  • Bake; Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  • Cool; Allow the cupcakes to cool completely in the pan before frosting.
For frosting these are some of the ingredients I personally prefer to use for perfect flavor.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract.
  • 2-4 tablespoons whole milk or heavy cream.

Tips and Variations

  • Customize the flavor: Try adding different extracts, such as almond or lemon, to the batter for a unique flavor.
  • Add-ins: Fold in nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit to add texture and flavor to the cupcakes.
  • Frosting: Experiment with different frosting flavors and colors to match your occasion or theme.

Well before we conclude, just to make sure we don't make mistakes, these are some of the ways we can counter some problems during baking.

Overmixing; Overmixing can lead to dense, tough cupcakes. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.

Underbaked; Check the cupcakes frequently during the baking time to ensure they're not underbaked.
